Hispanic Heritage Month is a national celebration of Hispanic achievements, contributions and culture.
To honor Hispanic Heritage Month, Colgate proudly introduces a new scholarship program entitled, "Haz la U" or "Make the U." This program, launched in partnership with the Hispanic Heritage Foundation (HHF), aims to award educational grants to eligible Hispanic students pursuing higher education.
From now until November 30, 2009, high school juniors and seniors can apply to Colgate's "Make the U" scholarship program by submitting an essay of 500 words or less, that discusses the question:
How do you think education can impact the heritage of Hispanics generations to come?
Educational Grant Prizes:
- (1) Grand Prize — $10,000 one-time, educational grant
- (15) First Prizes — $1,000 one-time, educational grant
Applying and attending college will allow young Latinos to increase their understanding of the world, build a network and learn from masters of the field and more importantly - start a tradition and create a promising path post graduation.
